Bonnie R. “Jewell” Baker, age 81 of Lyons, passed away Monday night, March 20, 2017 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1935 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Kelly and Dora (Napier) Thompson, Sr. She attended missionary school in Kentucky where she learned many valuable life skills. She married Donald R. Baker, Sr. and he survives.  Jewell was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her five children.  She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, collecting knickknacks and spending time with family and friends. Jewell is survived by three sons, Patrick Baker, Donald (Ann) Baker, Jr. and Sheldon Baker, two daughters, Donna (Kevin) Neifer and Gloria Baker; thirteen grandchildren, Joe, Mark, Jeremy, Jamie, Katie Jo, Lindsey, Jenna, Kyle, Ashlee, Logan, Hudson, Lillian and Stephen; twenty great-grandchildren; fourteen siblings, Mae Perdue, Duck (Mary) Strong, Bud Thompson, Bird (Virginia) Crabtree, Charlene Strong, Shirley Haddix, Nora Combs, Kelly Thompson, Jr., Phannie Thompson, Judy Combs, Mearl Spencer, Wendell Thompson, Kenny Thompson and Francis (Baby) Thompson. Jewell was preceded in death by her parents. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM & 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March, 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lyons Cemetery following the funeral.
