Harold R. Cass, age 75, of Delta, passed away early Thursday morning, February 7, 2013 at Swanton Health Care and Retirement.  He was born in Delta on May 12, 1937 to the late Fred Cass and Pearl (Lutton) Cass.  Harold was a graduate of Delta High School in 1955.  On November 23, 1957 he was united in marriage to Joyce (Nye) Cass.  Harold was a farmer and enjoyed tending to the everyday needs of the family farm.  In addition to farming, he worked for the Village of Delta Street Department; where he served as Superintendant before retiring in 1999.  Harold and his wife enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, camping, hunting and square dancing, as members of the Western Square Dance Club called “Shirts and Skirts”.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Mohler.  Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joyce D. Cass; children, Robert (Lisa) Cass of Delta, Laura (Kris) Hallett of Delaware, OH and David (Krissy) Cass of Delta; and grandchildren, Todd Snyder, Craig (Kari) Snyder, Kimberly Snyder, Tony (Jessica) Cass, Dustin (Kayte Studer) Cass, Tayler Cass and Garrett Cass and brother-in-law, Duane Mohler of Curtis, MI.  Friends and family will be received from 2-8 PM on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  A funeral service celebrating Harold’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.  Pastor Eric Markovich will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
