Alta L. Lohman, age 91, of Delta, peacefully passed away Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at The Lakes of Monclova in Maumee; where she had been a resident.  She was born in Cloverdale, OH on April 5, 1927 to the Harle Heitzman and Ottie (Ridenour) Heitzman.  Alta was a graduate of Continental High School and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Defiance College.  On June 9, 1951 she was united in marriage to David Lohman, who passed away on June 28, 2017 after 66 loving years together.   After graduating she returned to her hometown of Cloverdale and taught for a few years before substitute teaching and settling down as a homemaker to her husband and three children; of which she loved.  Alta enjoyed bird watching, gardening, playing the piano, tending to her flowers, bowling and golfing; but most of all spending quality time and making lasting memories with her family.  She was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church.  Alta is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Alanna) Lohman of Bowling Green, OH and Gary (Diane) Lohman of Delta; daughter, Patti (Jerry) Prephan of Maumee; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Along with her husband, David, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Heitzman and brothers, Dan and George Heitzman.  Friends will be received from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy 109 in Delta; where a funeral service honoring her life will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday also at the funeral home.  Pastor Teresa Wenrick will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to The Delta United Methodist Church, 101 Northwood Drive, Delta, OH  43515 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio 30000 East River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 in her memory.   A special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the nurses and staff from The Lakes of Monclova.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
