Avolene B. Cordle, age 82, of Delta, surrounded by her family, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 23, 2012.  She was born in Accoville, WV on September 9, 1929 to the late Arthur Keith Goodman and Alpha Blanch (Elkins) Goodman.  Avolene was a 1946 graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia.  On November 14, 1946, she married Douglas "Billy" Cordle and they shared 63 years of marriage together until his passing in 2009.  Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Douglas Cordle in 1962; sisters, Genevive Sandlin and Patricia Ann Goodman and granddaughter, Lee Ran Schaefer.  Avolene is survived by her children, April (Arthur) Schaefer of Chula Vista, CA, Delpha (Richard) Jean Cordle of San Diego, CA and Kevin (Dorothy) Cordle of Delta; sisters, Helen (Ransom) Maynard, Emma (Ken) Richards and Barbara (Stanley) Keith; brothers, Charles (Laren) Goodman and Walter (Carol) Goodman; grandchildren, Keith Cordle and Kim Hai Schaefer; great granddaughter, Lilly Ann Marie Schaefer and many loving friends and unofficially adopted sons and daughters.  Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.  A funeral service celebrating Avolene's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday at the Delta Assembly of God, 405 W. Main St., Delta, Ohio 43515.  Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.  Pastor Randy Trowbridge will be officiating.  Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 N.
