Betty M. Wood, age 73, of Delta, surrounded by her loving family; passed away at her home early Sunday morning, November 4, 2012.  She was born in Lyons, OH on April 12, 1939 to the late Raymond J. Barber and Marguerite (Wiseman) Barber.  On June 20, 1959, she married Richard E. Wood.  Betty was a 1957 graduate of Chesterfield High School.  Betty volunteered and worked for the Delta Public Library for over 30 years.  Some of her other hobbies included gardening and cooking for her family.   Most of all Betty loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and family.  Betty was a member of the First Universalist Church in Lyons.  In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her son, Tom (Gretchen) Wood of Toledo; daughter, Julia Koenn of Delta; brother, John (Ann) Barber of Ludington, MI; grandchildren, Craig (Rachel) Jacobs, Sean (Alice) Jacobs, Erin Wood and Emily Wood; great grandson, Reece Jacobs and one great grandchild soon to be added; loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and canine companion, "Gracie" and feline companion, "Benjamin".  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kathy Wood; brother, Robert and infant brother, Joseph Barber.  A memorial service celebrating Betty's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the First Universalist Church, 145 E. Morenci St., Lyons, OH 43533.  Rev. Lynn Kerr will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the First Universalist Church or the Delta Public Library, 402 Main St., Delta, Ohio 43515 in Betty's memory.  Arrangements are entrusted with Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.   Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
