Carol J. Creps, age 62, of Defiance, passed away at Defiance Regional Hospital Wednesday evening September 6, 2017.  She was born in Toledo on March 13, 1955 to the late Earnie Hardin and Carrie (Demerest) Hardin.  After graduating from Springfield High School in 1973, Carol went on to receive her RN Degree from Owens Community College.  She was Chief Director of the WIC Program at the Paulding County Health Department for 11 years and later served 10 years with the Defiance County Health Department.  Carol was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Defiance, the Defiance Moose Lodge and Eagles.  She enjoyed attending the Fulton County Fair; where she often could be found listening to the various music events.  Carol was a collector of antique dolls, an avid reader and movie enthusiast.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Aaron Creps.  Carol is survived by her sons, Merl J. (Jamie) Creps Jr. of Delta and Jeremy A. (Tina) Creps of Defiance; sister, Jennifer Hardin of Lucasville, OH and grandchildren, Aaron, Brendon (Jenn), Brady, Tatum and Carley.   Friends will be received from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy.109 in Delta.  A funeral service for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 11, 2017; also at the funeral home.  Pastor David Brobston will be officiating.  Interment will be private at Springfield Township Cemetery in Holland, OH.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Galleria, Suite 111, Southfield, MI 48034 in her memory.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
