Cherie L. Yant, age 68, of Wauseon, surrounded by her loving family; passed away Thursday night, May 7, 2015 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon after a long illness    She was born in Toledo, OH on October 16, 1946 to John Reichard who survives and the late Inez (Burkholder) Reichard.  On May 7, 1966 she was united in marriage to Richard R. Yant and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1987.  Cherie was a loving mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She also worked as a bank teller and enjoyed her years as a cashier.  Cherie retired in 2004.  Some of her fondest hobbies included bowling, gardening and taking care of her family.  She is survived by her life companion of over 20 years, Daryl "Jesse" Walter; father, John Reichard; children, Rick (Lori) Yant Jr, Shelly (Jim) Tolles and Ryan (Moriah) Yant; brothers, Dave (Mary) and Jim (Linda) Reichard; sisters, Sally (Bugs) Leu and Mary Ellen Lewis; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  A funeral service honoring Cherie's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday also at the funeral home.  Pastor Scott Kaufman will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P.O Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in her name.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
