Earl C. Harris, age 90, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 21, 2012 at the County Villas in Claremont, CA. Earl was born in Delta on April 3, 1922 to the late Ralph N. Harris and Helen G. (Harmon) Harris. He was a graduate of Delta High School. On February 12, 1944, Earl was married to Helen Sieren also of Delta; who passed away on February 6, 2010. Earl served in the U.S Navy during WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He worked as an electrician for many years before retiring at age 65. Earl was a member of St Caspar's Catholic Church in Wauseon. He was an active member of the Delta American Legion. Earl is survived by his daughters Phyllis Rey Saeger (Jim) and Barbara Tuckerman (Blair). He is also survived by his brothers, Richard and Herbert (Eleanor) Harris; four grandchildren; David and Marc (Jennifer) Rey and Adam and Erin Tuckerman, two great granddaughters Nayeli and Alani Rey. Since moving to California Earl was able to enjoy much time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom reside in Southern California. Friends and family will be welcomed for visitation from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy 109 in Delta; with an American Legion Service at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Caspar Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, with military honors provided by the Fulton County Honor Guard.
