Edith "Edie" Barron, age 91, of Delta, passed away Wednesday evening, January 16, 2013 at Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center.  She was born on May 11, 1921 to the late Simon Horn and Golda (Ballard) Horn.  Edie married Robert A. Barron in 1941 and they spent 64 years together, until his passing in 2006.  She was a homemaker most of her life.  Edie was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church and a faithful member of Pythian Sisters Lodge #250.  Edie possessed many talents, including baking and crafts.  Most of all she became known for her skill of knitting.  She overcame the everyday challenges of Parkinson's disease by knitting and crocheting beautiful caps for needy children along with clothes for dolls.  Since 2004 she had made and donated over 1000 hats to the mission projects at St. John's Christian Church in Archbold, the Fulton County Hospital and local elementary schools.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Fruth and half sister, Norma Green.  Edie is survived by her son, Richard A. (Barbara) Barron of Napoleon and many loving friends.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta; with a memorial service to celebrate Edie's life being held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Pastor Jay Miklovic will be officiating.  Private interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pythian Sisters Lodge #250, C/O Frances Lee, 114 West Garfield Ave, Swanton, Ohio 43558 in Edith's memory.
