Gary R. Ernsthausen, age 62, of Delta, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 14, 2013. He was born in Wauseon on December 26, 1950 to the late Robert W. Ernsthausen and Doris E. (Feather) Ernsthausen. He chose to serve the Lord at 14 years old. Gary was an Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He married Carol Kaatz and they shared 35 years together until her passing in 2009. Gary was a graduate of Delta High School. He owned and operated Del-View Drainage in Delta. Gary is survived by his children, Lisa Ernsthausen, Doug (Melissa) Ernsthausen, Dale (Tiana) Ernsthausen, Lori Ernsthausen, LeAnn (Rex) Rasmussen, Lynnae (Dustin) Satterfield and Lindsay (Aaron) Erickson; sisters, JoAnn Ernsthausen and Sue Swonger; mother-in-law, Ella Kaatz and 9 grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Ernsthausen in 1979. A memorial service celebrating Gary's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Swanton American Legion, 200 S. Hallett Ave., Swanton, OH 43558; with a reception to share memories with the family immediately follow the service. Private interment will be at Winameg Cemetery near Delta. In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Fulton County Honor Guard, P.O Box 205, Wauseon, Ohio 43567 or the Swanton American Legion in Gary's memory.
