Gene R. Miller, age 80, of Lyons, passed away at Defiance Inpatient Hospice on April 5, 2017.  He was born on February 3, 1937 in Wauseon to the late Raymond and Victorine (Dominique) Miller. He was a 1955 graduate of Lyons High School. After graduating he joined the Army and served from 1962-1964. Gene then worked for Gulf Oil Service Station, Medusa Cement Company and M & K Metals for many years. He was a former member of the Delta Eagles and Isaac Walton League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Gene is survived by his children; Gene (Patty) Miller, of FL, Kenny (Laura) Miller, of FL, Teresa (Bill) Ellis, of NC, Angie Miller-Chase, of Delta, and Roy (Kathy) Miller, also of Delta; a step-daughter, Karen (Joe) Boyd, of Delta; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; six siblings, Don, Linda, Tom, Lucy, Doug and Bob Miller. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Miller, sisters, Joann Miller and Janet Hester, and his brothers, Sam and Howard Miller. Friend will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Winameg cemetery.
