Jennings Francis John Johnson, age 81, passed away at the University of Toledo Medical Center early Friday morning, August 23, 2024. He was born on March 8, 1943 to the late Jennings and Rita (Millard) Johnson in Duluth, Minnesota. One of his greatest accomplishments was obtaining his Eagle Scout at the age of 15. Jennings graduated from Duluth East High School where he was an honor student, in 1961. After high school he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where he would obtain his accounting degree. While in college he was very active in the ROTC, graduating in 1965. He married Mary Sue Emerick in 1971 and they would be married for 51 years until her passing in 2022. Jennings would open his own accounting firm, Johnson CPA & Associates, working until retirement. He was heavily involved in the Lions Club, a Tai Chi instructor and always known to be a kind and loving person who would go out of his way to help his friends, neighbors and family. Jennings loved children and always advocated on their behalf. His family will miss him. Jennings is survived by his brother, Millard Johnson and sister, Mary Hughes. In honoring his wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy 109 in Delta.
