Kathryn "Kitty" Growden, age 73, of Delta, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 24, 2012.  She was born November 30, 1938 to the late Ross L. Edwards and Kathryn M. (Hughes) Edwards.  Kitty graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in North Carolina and later married the late Melvin Growden.  Throughout her life, she enjoyed employment at AP Parts in Toledo, as a crossing guard for Pike Delta York School and the Delta Laundromat attendant.  Going to the movie theater, keeping up with Hollywood's current events, playing card games, socializing with friends and playing Bingo at the Delta Senior Center were some of Kitty's favorite pastimes.  In addition to her parents and husband, Kitty was preceded in death by her infant son, Keith; brothers, Alton "Tom" Edwards; sisters, Sandra Northington and Mary Virginia Pair.  Those left to cherish her memory are children, Barry Growden of Delta, Andrew (Melissa) Growden of Holland, Ohio, Michael (Donna) Growden of Monument, CO.; grandchildren, Ben, Jesse, Tyler, Kaylee, Willem, Silas & Laurel; brother, Ross L. Edwards Jr. and brother-in-law, Lionel Northington, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC.  Friends may call 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta; where a funeral service for Kitty will immediately follow at Noon.  Pastor Judy Westman will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Springfield Twp Cemetery in Holland, OH.  In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Fulton County Senior Center – Delta Location, 240 Clinton St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567 in her memory.  The family would like to thank Lynn Mohler, Judy Kinsman and the Marteney Family and all of Kitty's friends who gave her support and friendship over the years.
