Richard M. Liedel, age 86, of Monroe, MI, passed away at Fountain View of Monroe Care Center early Thursday morning, October 11, 2012. He was born in Monroe, MI on June 19, 1926 to the late Ben Liedel and Nellie (Hitchingham) Liedel. Richard was a graduate of Monroe High School and a WWII Veteran having served with the U.S Air Force. He retired after 30 years of service as a data processing manager for the Detroit Stoker Company. Some of Richard's fondest hobbies included gardening, camping and sailing. He is survived by his brother, Norman Liedel, sisters, Bernadine Brooks, Grace Clark, Rosemary Schatzka and Frankie Loeffler, close friend, Robert Greisinger; and loving nieces and nephews. In honoring Richard's request, there will be no visitation. A private committal service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, Ohio.
