Marvin M. Morr, age 93, of Delta, passed away Memorial Day evening, May 28, 2012 at Swanton Health Care.  He was born on December 20, 1918 in Delta to the late Earl Morr and Helen (Montgomery) Morr.  Marvin graduated from Delta High School in 1937.  Upon graduation he married Helen (Moser) Morr and they enjoyed many loving years together until her passing in 1992.  Later he was united in marriage to Rosemarie Simon on July 23, 1994 and she survives.   Marvin was employed by the Toledo-Beavers Tools as a shipping supervisor and remained with them until 1975 when they moved to St. Louis, MO.  He then worked for the PDY School System as a grounds keeper until his retirement in 1983.  Marvin served in the U.S Army and was a radio operator during the Pacific Theater and occupation of Korea during WWII.  Through his military dedication he became very active in many associated organizations.  Marvin was a life member since 1946 of the Delta American Legion Post #373; serving as commander 4 times.  He was a member of the Staccotos Precision Drill Team; where they were national champions 1953-1954.  Commander of Fulton County Council 5 times, commander 3rd Division 1st District Fulton-Williams Counties 3 times and commander from 1961-1962 of First District of Ohio 10 Northwestern Counties of Ohio.  A 3 year member of the State Executive Board, 10 year member of the State Uniform Groups and a 1962 member of the National Committee on Veterans Preference Affairs.  In 1990 Marvin was named First District Legionnaire of the year.  In addition to his military and legion service, he was also active in Fulton Lodge F&AM #248 since 1982; where he was a 3 time Master.  Scottish Rite Flag Bearer for the 32 Degree.  Past President Friendly  Hi-12, Club #689.  He was also active in the Zenobia Shrine; where he drove to Chicago Children's Hospital for 5 years.  In 2003 was honored with the Masonic Fifth District Community Service Award.  Marvin was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church since his childhood.  He drove for the Fulton Co. Human Services for 12 years.  A member of the Delta Eagles #2597; where he was Eagle of The Year in 2012.  Marvin was named Delta Citizen of the Year in 2003.  Was a past commander of Fulton County United Veterans, a member of Fulton Grange #217 for many years and was a member of the State Highway Patrol Auxiliary for 40 years.  He assisted with presenting the Colors at home football games since 1947 and played the role of Santa Claus since 1953.  In addition to his loving wife Rosemarie, he is survived by his children, Carl (Margaret) Morr, Daryl (Judy) Morr, Janice (Gary) Friess and Phillip (Dianne) Morr; step-children, Diane (Robert) Norden, Carolyn Golden, Donald (Pam) Simon, Connie (Todd) Miller, Randy Simon and Cheryl Carter; brother, Marion Morr; 8 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 11 step-great grandchildren; and one great great grandson expected in the Fall.  Marvin was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; grandson, Troy Friess; brothers, Robert, Gerald and Ralph Morr; step-son, Roger Simon and step-granddaughter, Melanie Golden.  Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta; with a Masonic Service beginning at 7:30, followed by an American Legion service and Eagles Service.  A funeral service celebrating Marvin's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Delta United Methodist Church, 101 Northwood Dr, Delta, Ohio 43515.  Pastor Jay Miklovic will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta with Military Rites by the Fulton County Honor Guard.  Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the Delta American Legion Post 373, 5939 State Route 109, Delta, OH  43515, Odyssey Hospice, 1745 Indianwood Circle, Suite 200, Maumee, Ohio 43537 or the Delta Rescue Squad, 500 E.
