Melba A. Young, age 85, of Delta, passed away unexpectedly Friday night December 21, 2012 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. One of 8 children, she was born in Okolona, OH on December 16, 1927 to the late Edwin Miller and Nora (Brubaker) Miller. Melba worked most of her years for Globe Weiss and the Wire Factory in Wauseon before her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Young Sr. in 1975; sister, Helen Fuller; brothers, Harold, Ron, Frederick and Robert Miller. Melba is survived by her children, Wilbur Young Jr., Tanya (Tim) Chase, Gale (Marsha) Young, Tom (Leslie) Young, Tim Young and Jane (Tully) Whitmer; brother, Bernard "Pete" (Arlene) Miller; sister, Alma (Gerald) Westhoven; grandchildren, Nicole, Michelle and Troy Whitmer; Chris Young, Paul Young, Tony Chase, Teresa and Toby (Theresa) Chase; Zach and Lucas Young, Kelly (Alex) Vergara and Brad (Alicia) Young; great grandchildren, Trent Chase, Troy Whitmer Chase, Ella Vergara, Sophie Vergara and Lillie Young. Friends and family may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; where a funeral service celebrating Melba's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday. Pastor Mary Jo Bray will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
