Paul Dean Guilford, age 84 of Wauseon, passed away Monday evening, January 2, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born June 19, 1927 to the late Harold W. and Leah (Williams) Guilford. Paul was a WWII Army veteran, having served in the occupation of Japan. Following graduation from Wauseon High School in 1945, he later received his Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University. He began his teaching career at Delta High School and later was a professor of Industrial Technologies at both Wilmington College and Ohio Northern University. Paul attended North Clinton Mennonite Church and also was a former member of the Delta Rotary. As a car enthusiast, Paul found great pleasure in rehabilitating vehicles to pass on to his grandchildren. Writing poetry was one of Paul's most notable talents and he also found every opportunity to spend quality time with his family and friends. Paul is survived by loving wife of 62 years, Christine (Sampson) Guilford; children, Janet (Rodney Kuntz) Ruple of Wauseon, Deanna (Robert) Ramsdail of North Baltimore, Dallas (Mary Beth) Guilford of Delta; sister, Helen Guilford of Wauseon; sister-in-law, Irene Guilford of Wauseon; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Robert Guilford, brother, Russell Guilford and son-in-law, Dave Ruple. Friends may call 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the North Clinton Mennonite Church, 831 W. Linfoot St., (Co Rd F) Wauseon, OH 43567. Pastor Brad Faler will be officiating. Prior to the memorial service, interment will take place at 9:30 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
