Robert L. Allen, age 90, of Delta, passed away at Fulton County Health Center with his family by his side; Sunday evening, December 9, 2012. He was born on Dec 6, 1922 in Jacksonville, IL to the late James Edward Allen and Dora Agnes (Conlee) Allen. On Sept. 6, 1942, he married Shirley L. (Evans) Allen and she survives. Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1945. He was owner and operator of the former Delta Livestock; where he enjoyed a long career and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Wauseon. In addition to his wife Shirley, Robert is survived by his children; Brad Allen of Delta, Ed (Sharon) Allen of Delta, Rudy (Peg) Allen of Delta, Chester Allen of Delta, Tim (Joyce) Allen of Sacramento, CA and Ann (Dave) Perry of Delta; 27 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren. He was preceded death by son, Steve Allen in 1990; brothers, Edward, Johnny & Everett Allen; and sister, Mary Baker. A celebration to honor Robert's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 858 S. Shoop Ave., Wauseon, Ohio 43567. Branch President Kim Allen will be officiating. Interment will be private at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. Arrangements have been entrusted with Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.
