Obituary

(AKC Name: Jeadon's Best Bib and Tucker)

On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, we lost our beloved canine companion "Tucker", Pembroke Cardigan Welsh Corgi, 10 yrs. of age.  He was born on July 17, 2001.  His father was an award-winning show dog and Tucker also had his beautiful markings.

Dear Tucker, Our family has been blessed with many wonderful experiences from the day we brought you home.  As a puppy, you had such big ears that we never thought you would grow into them.  We didn't know what to name you, so we waited awhile, hoping to find one fitting.  When going out for long walks, you'd get tired and just fall down in the grass, like you couldn't take another step.  We'd have to carry you home (what a wimp).  We said that you were all 'tuckered-out'…and I guess the name stuck.  Your obsession for unraveling the fringe on hallway rugs, chewing on drywall, shoes, toys and house plants really got on our nerves, but you eventually grew out of that phase.   Because you had so much fur, playing in the snow was top on your list of fun - Summer was bearable, as long as there was a Frisbee, or a water hose nearby.  Catching a frisbee in mid-air was your specialty, even though you were vertically-challenged.  You were an intelligent dog, so smart that even spelling  B A T H, made you run for cover.  Being left at home alone for very long caused bellyaches and obvious pouting.  But, you were very quick to offer forgiveness, once you knew that your family was home for the evening.  Then, and only then, would you finally eat your dinner.  When your little brother Tyler was born, you were so jealous - but you protected him like he was your sweet baby.  Several years later, when you thought you had figured out Tyler's personality and stunts, your world was turned upside down again, when little brother Mason was born.  Let the fur-pulling and pestering begin again ('good grief, somebody help me!'…your eyes said it all!)  Going to work with Daddy was your favorite place in the world.  You earned the title of Funeral Home Mascot & Greeter and had your share of special napping places.  This was your safe-haven, away from little people and their tormenting tactics – a place where you treasured the uninterrupted nap time, peanut butter biscuits and time to play outside in the grass and sunshine.  As you grew older, your coat whitened and your steps grew slower, we knew that this day would come before we were ready.  All of us will miss the clicking of your paws on the kitchen floor, your determination to get extra treats and the playful growl when you'd stolen our pillow.  You were a special part of our family and were loved by most everyone that met you.
