Virginia Rose "Ginny" Leu, age 84 of Delta, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born the only child to the late Alexander and Twila L. (Bower) Stromberger on October 15, 1927. Ginny graduated from Delta High School in 1945; where she was named Homecoming Queen her senior year. After graduation she attended Warner Beauty College in Toledo and for 30 years she worked as a secretary for the Pike-Delta-York School System. She volunteered at the Open Door Outreach and was very active with the American Legion, Elks, VFW and Eagles; preparing baked goods and meals for various functions and filling in where needed. Along with sharing her time with volunteering, Ginny supported her husband in his work with the Teamsters. Last year, Harold and Ginny were honored with the title of 2011 Delta Chicken Festival Grand Marshalls. Ginny is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold Leu; children, Beth (Bob) Cunningham of Delta and Gary (Colleen) Leu of Delta; grandchildren, Mandi (Kerry) Sherman, Melanie (Bob) Alig, Maggie (Cody) Leu, Jeremy (Ginny) Turi, Josh (Gillian) Turi, Jordan (Chelsey) Turi, Jodi (Eric) Sylvester, Jill (Alan) Hildreth and Jamie (Jennifer) Cunningham; great grandchildren, Lily Sherman, Emily Sherman, Ashton Alig, Aida Alig, Dillon Hildreth, Destiny Hildreth, Stephanie Sylvester and Samantha Cunningham. Friends may call 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109, Delta, with an Eagles service beginning at 7:30 PM. A memorial service celebrating Ginny's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jay Miklovic will be officiating.
