Antone Santos

Antone Santos, age 82, of Delta, passed away peacefully at his home under hospice care on October 25, 2023 with his son, Anthony and special friend, Yvonne by his side. He was born in Fall Rivers, Massachusetts on September 14, 1941, to the late Joseph Santos and Maria (Couto) Santos.  Antone served as an ironworker in the Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas area and would later move to Delta; where he would call home for 20 years.  Antone’s family would find it ironic that as a child he would play for hours with his erector set, to become a proud ironworker for over 30 years, retiring from the Toledo Local #55.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Mark J. Santos in 1995; brothers, Joseph, Manuel and Gilbert Santos; sisters, Hilda Connors, Irene Pavao, and Delores Medeiros.  Antone is survived by his children, Susan (Dale) Snow of Marion, MA; Sandra Ann Long of Dallas, TX; Anthony (Peta) Santos of Swansea, MA; brother, Henry Santos of Florida; sister, Mary Jane Amarantes of Westport, MA; five grandchildren and many friends.  Funeral services will be private in honoring Antone’s wishes.  Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.
