Daniel Douglas Obituary

Daniel “Dan” Douglas, age 68, of Delta, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family; Saturday morning November 9, 2019.  He was born in Windsor, Canada on September 14, 1951 to the late Elmer Douglas and Grace (Grey) Douglas.  Dan graduated from High School in Canada and later moved to the United States; where he met and married Janet Brown on October 17, 1975.  Together they were blessed with two children, Carrie and Michael.  For over 30 years Dan served as a millwright for Ford Automotive before retiring.  Some of his fondest hobbies included fishing, hunting and reading, especially mystery novels.  Along with his wife of 44 years, Janet Douglas; he is survived by daughter, Carrie (Jimmy) Vessels of Lakeland, FL; son, Michael Douglas of Toledo; brother, Len (Anita) Douglas of Windsor; sisters, Karen (Ron) Kloustin of Detroit and Lisa Wood of Toledo; grandchildren, Cameron, Colin and Cassidy; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Carroll) Ashley of Swanton and Joyce (Dan) Bucher of Toledo and brother-in-law, Herbert (Connie) Brown of Georgia.   Funeral services will be private for the family.  Arrangements and cremation are entrusted with Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  Those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to make memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice, 28555 Starbright Blvd, Suite E, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 in Dan’s memory.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
