Jed Austin Bucher

Jed Austin Bucher, age 36, of Lebanon, Ohio formerly from Liberty Center, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on November 13, 2023.  He was born in Napoleon, Ohio on July 21, 1987 to the late Kelly Bucher and Megan McGilvery who survives.  From the time that he was a little boy Jed was unique in his own ways from his contagious smile to his big brown eyes and was always the life of the party. Jed has left memories across the United States of America. If you had the pleasure of meeting him, you'd remember his smile, laughter and dry sense of humor. Jed was a very giving and likeable guy as he made friends easily. He enjoyed time with family & friends mushroom hunting Northern Michigan and Ohio's finest Morels to disc golfing in his free time. Jed will always be remembered for using his talent and carrying on the tradition of baking his grandmother’s special bread.  He worked with his family in Northwest Ohio as a Machinist & Machine Builder; while also performing home construction. Jed later worked in Southern Ohio at Lowes helping people and most of his work career was spent with his sisters at Skyline Chili.  He was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Bucher; paternal grandparents, Richard “Dick” and Joyce Bucher maternal grandparents, Washington Irving and Mary Ann McGilvery; sister, Ivy McFarland and uncle, Patrick McGilvery. Jed is survived by his mother, Megan McGilvery; brother, Richard (Jennifer) Bucher; sister, Molly (Bubba) McGinnis; nieces and nephews; Emily and Grace Bucher, Carter Abbot, Riley McFarland, Madden, Quenton, and Oliver McGinnis; aunts and uncles, Matthew (Machel) McGilvery, Washington Irving II (Karen) McGilvery, Julie (Kevin) Megysi, Mark (Yuping) McGilvery, Jess (Bonnie) McGilvery, Tracy Ehret and Scott Bucher.  Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  A memorial service honoring Jed’s life will be held by the family at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family care of Megan McGilvery.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com
