Thelma Mae Williams, age 97, lifetime resident of Delta, peacefully passed away at her home, Sunday, November 19, 2023. She was born in Swanton on May 26, 1926 to the late Joseph and Marjorie (Cornell) Lemmon. Thelma graduated from Swanton High School and later married Junior Williams on December 24, 1946. Together they spent 56 loving years, until his passing in 2002. Before retiring, she served over 30 years as a banker with Peoples Bank in Delta; later known as Key Bank, PNC and most recently, State Bank. Thelma was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta, serving as church financial secretary and American Legion Auxiliary, where she was a past president. Thelma was a wonderful seamstress, making items for her children, grandchildren, and infant clothing for the hospital. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets and will always be remembered for her sock monkeys. Thelma and Junior traveled most of the United States and even visited Europe. Every year they vacationed and created memories with family at Douglas Lake in Michigan. She is survived by her children, Sharon Wolford of Delta, Janice (Bob) Brock of Grand Haven, MI, Linda (Frank) Burns of Clinton Twp. MI, and son in law Joe Hoover of South Haven, MN; brother, Burton Lemmon; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Gray; grandchildren, Jeff (Jenny) Wolford, Michael (Heather) Wolford, Ben (Erica) Wolford, Tristen (Derrick) Schabbel, Tyson (Kelly) Zednick, Tanah (Kris) Eckert, Patrick Hoover, Phillip (Angela) Hoover, Rob (Jessica) Brock, Andrea (Eric) Thayer, Chris (Emily) Brock; great grandchildren, Jarret,Jade, Jaccob, Jorrdyn, Jerremiah, Guiliana, Lillian, Emilia, Samuel, Adeline, Stella, Emorie, Mayla, Everleigh, Rowan, Jadon, Juliana, Kate and great great grandchildren Weston and Wrenley. Along with her parents and husband, Junior; she is preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Hoover; brother, Merlin Lemmon; son-in-law, Chris Wolford and sister-in-law, Ruth Lemmon. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor Street Delta, Ohio 43515; where a funeral service celebrating her wonderful life will begin at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday at the church. Pastor Matthew Voyer will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in honor of Thelma.
