James “Doug” Douglas Olwick, age 74, of Wauseon, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, April 10, 2026, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice in Defiance. He was born in Toledo on August 10, 1951, to the late Robert F. Olwick and Donna (Aldrich) Olwick. Doug was a 1969 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. He began his working career with McCord Corporation in Wauseon, where he dedicated 19 years before its closing. He later continued his career with Fulton County Processing, working there for 15 years until his retirement. Doug was an active member of the Fulton County Sportsmen’s Club, where he found great enjoyment in competitive shooting. He was also a proud member of the International Defensive Pistol Association. Outside of his passion for shooting sports, Doug cherished time spent playing cards with his friends, sharing laughter and camaraderie. He is survived by his daughters, Danielle (Stacy) Demaline of Delta, Jennifer (Jon) Sillman of Albrightsville, Pennsylvania, and Amanda (Gary) Waldfogel of Defiance; brother, Nicholas Olwick of Whitehouse; sister, Cindy (Regis) Jones of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Megan Valentino, Owen Waldfogel, and Caleb Waldfogel; great-granddaughter, Nayvee Waldfogel; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Christine and his brothers, Thomas, Robert, and Allen Olwick. A time for sharing memories and receiving friends will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Highway 109 in Delta. Private interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville, where Doug will be laid to rest next to his father. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Fulton County Sportsmen’s Club, P.O. Box 151, Wauseon, Ohio 43567, in Doug’s memory.
