Dean Kishpaugh Obituary

Dean F. Kishpaugh, age 97, of Wauseon and formerly of Sand Creek, MI, peacefully passed away under hospice care at home with his family by his side Saturday morning, April 10, 2021.  Dean was born in Jasper, Michigan on April 2, 1924 to the late Kenneth J. Kishpaugh Sr. and Hazel (Thielan) Kishpaugh.  After graduating high school he entered the U.S Army and served as a Sergeant during WWII from 1945 – 1946; where Dean received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.  After returning from military service, he married Janet Marie Davenport and she preceded him in death in 1987.  Dean was a lifelong farmer and also worked for 25 years for Kewaunee Manufacturing in Adrian, along with driving school bus for Sand Creek Community Schools.  On December 1, 1990 he married Joyce (Henricks) Eicher and together spent 30 loving years together.  Along with his parents and first wife, Janet, Dean was preceded in death by his brothers, LeRoy, Kenneth Jr. and George Kishpaugh and sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Eris Munk.  Dean is survived by his wife, Joyce J. Kishpaugh; children, Deanna (James E.) Miller, Daniel Kishpaugh and Jon (Mikelyn) Kishpaugh; step-children, Jerry (Brenda) Eicher, Randi (John) Linehan and Sue (Jim) Haley; sisters, Barbara Howdyshell and Lois Bennett; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Haven Heights Baptist Church, 1373 N. Ottokee St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567.  A funeral service honoring Dean’s life will be held at 3:30 P.M on Saturday, April 17, 2021 also at Haven Heights Baptist Church.  Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, those attending the visitation and service are asked to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a facial mask, observe six-foot distancing when possible.  Pastor Lance Wyse will be officiating.  Private interment will be at Lyons Cemetery.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Haven Heights Baptist Church, 1373 N. Ottokee St., Wauseon, Ohio 43567 or a charity of the donor’s choice in Dean’s memory.  Arrangements are entrusted with Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
