Marie M. (Burk) Bloomer

Marie M. Bloomer, age 91, of Delta peacefully passed away early Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice.  She was born in Napoleon on January 16, 1929 to the late William T. Burk and Minnie (Scheele) Burk.  Marie was a 1947 graduate of Napoleon High School.  For over 23 years Marie worked as Chief Payroll Officer for the Toledo Mental Health Facility, retiring in 1989.  She enjoyed sewing and especially bowling.  Marie served as secretary and treasurer for the Ohio Public Employees Bowling Association for many years.  Marie is survived by her son, Douglas R. Bloomer of Delta; grandchildren, Michael Schondel Jr. of Grand Rapids, MI; great grandchildren, Austin, Bobby and Elizabeth Schondel.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jo Bloomer in 2012; sister, Dorothy Burk; brother, Martin Burk and infant brother, Walter Burk.  In honoring Marie’s wishes, services will be private.  Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.  Those wishing a show of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in her memory.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
