Rose Marie (Chase) Goldsmith, age 91, a longtime resident of Delta, passed away Thursday morning February 25, 2021 at Swanton Valley Care Center where she had been a resident since 2017. She was born in Delta on August 28, 1929 to the late Carl W. Lambert and Bertha (Osterhout) Lambert. Rose graduated from Delta High School and later married Arthur Chase Sr. She worked 9 years with the Wire Factory in Wauseon and 23 years with Fulton Tubing in Archbold before retiring. Rose was an active member of the Delta Eagles, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. Cherishing her memories are her children, Stephen Chase, Ellen Kay Whitman, Pete (Connie) Chase and Carla Jean Teel; brothers, Jerry Lambert and Lloyd Baun Sr; sister, Jeanie (John) Turi; 23 grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her sons, Harvey and Arthur “Weed” Chase Jr., daughters, Susan Chase, Julie Chase and Debbie Baer; sisters, Arlene Crane, Carol Hamiester, Kathy Donaldson and Mary Haas and brother, Donnie Lambert. Friends and family will be received on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, those attending are asked to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a facial mask, observe six-foot distancing when possible and please make your visit brief to allow all who desire to attend visitation the ability to do so. A private funeral service for the family will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday. Pastor Dawn Trapp will be officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta.
